back home again

If there's anyone still reading, my apologies for the recent lack of posts. I've been on holidays overseas (Germany, Austria, Italy). I had a great time, and will no doubt post something more about it later. But for the time being, I will offer five points to anyone who can tell me the proper name of the building in this photo.

The building's proper name is the Flavian Amphitheatre. Of course, Emperor Nero never turned his thumb here. See, I'm not as unintellegent as you think I am!
Band-aid.
Oh, and I'm sorry to say you have correctly guessed my identity.

Colosseum, or Amphitheatrum Flavium. Is that what you were after?

yes! 5 points each to anonymous and anonymous. it is of course commonly known as the colosseum, but it's proper name is the Flavian amphitheatre, since it was constructed under two emperors whose family name was Flavius. the name colosseum comes from a colossal (ie really big) statue that used to be nearby.
