Holiday Reading

It’s been a long time between posts as I’ve been away camping. Here’s what I’ve been reading on my holidays:

Ideas: A History of Thought and Invention from Fire to Freud, Peter Watson

The Island of the Day Before, Umberto Eco

Lost in a Good Book, Jasper Fforde

Corfu, Robert Dessaix

Affluenza, Clive Hamilton (see also here)

Troy: Shield of Thunder, David Gemmell

The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid, Bill Bryson

The Secret River, Kate Grenville

Thud, Terry Pratchett

Byron, the Eco was great. it was (like name of the rose) a good mix of a compelling, easy to read plot, and reflections on philosophy and religion, and full of obscure Latin quotes. i'll lend it to you if you like.

I have 'The island of the day before' sitting on my desk awaiting me. but i need to finish Foucault's pendulum first.
